Who We Are
The University Food Bank is working in partnership with North Seattle College to host a mobile pantry once a week to support those in the North Seattle Community College area who are experiencing food insecurity.
What We Do
The North Seattle Pantry was started to address the levels of high food insecurity in the North Seattle College community. North Seattle College was featured in 2019 Hope report as one of the college campuses with the highest rates of food insecurity in Washington State. The study showed that 40-60 % of North students struggled with food insecurity throughout the academic year. This mobile pantry, which seeks to meet that need for students and help to keep those students in school, so they can continue to complete their education and have access to nutrition that helps them succeed. The pantry is open Tuesdays 4-7pm in the parking lot of the Opportunity Center for Employment and Education and is available to North Seattle College students and faculty and members of the North Seattle College area.
