If you like making people feel welcome this is the job for you! Manage the line, hand out new customer forms, and allow folks to step up when the check in volunteer is ready. We also hand out sandwiches and water in line if requested. Thank shoppers as they exit. Strong customer service skills are necessary for the role as well as ability to work with a diverse amounts of people. Are you a people person and would like to work work in a customer facing role? This role is super important in making sure that customers can get what they have requested! Helpful skills in this role are attention to detail, an understanding of food groups, with an eye on food safety and cleanliness and ability to work independently within a group! This is an awesome way to see the food systems and how it influences food security and stocks the food bank shelves. This role is so important to keeping food stocked in the food bank! Must be able to lift 20-30 pounds, navigate stores and check in with store department managers, and be kind and respectful in stores and with our relationships with store managers, so we can keep coming back to get food from them! Madison Park Bakery is located at: 4214 E Madison St, Seattle, WA 98112 For more information about the store or training reach out to Eric at eric@udistrictfoodbank.org Please head into the Bakery and ask a staff if they have donations for the food bank. UDFB is open late on Thursdays and you should be able to come on in and drop off in the back of house! Vehicle information: Any size vehicle is great.
