Volunteer: Gardening ShiftHelp care for plants on our roof top farm! Soil Sifting Project: Our soil has too much pumice, which is preventing seedlings from taking root. So we will be sifting out the pumice in each bed in an effort to give our plants more room to grow. This will require the use of shovels, wheelbarrows, and large soil sifters. We are not able to plant until most of the pumice is removed, so I expect that the first several farm shifts will be focused on this project. Watering, planting, harvesting and other farm duties as needed throughout the growing season. Led by farm manager Shanelle. Access to the roof and arriving for your shift: When you arrive for your shift, please sign in on the ipad and meet by the elevator in the north side of the garage to head up to the roof. You'll need to get a staff to beep you up the elevator! Program: Rooftop Roots Farm Help care for plants on our roof top farm!
