This route goes to one building in Capitol Hill (98102). Please arrive at the food bank at 10:45 am, and pull into the garage. If the garage is currently occupied, you can park on the street and come inside. We can find someone to help you wheel the rack full of groceries out to your car to load. With about 15 households (30 bags) in one building, it should take about 1 - 1.5 hours total. We have dash flyers that explain that you are with the food bank- ask to grab one if you want.
Please check in with staff if it is your first time taking this route. There will be a silver rolling rack or plastic cart full of your route's groceries, along with a paper taped to the front of the rack with all of the route info.
This route has volunteers that live in the building that will distribute the food. All you need to do is deliver the bags to them, and they will handle the rest.
This role is a great way to get out in the community and learn more about your neighbors and the different buildings that you may never get to see.
Thank you! This service is so helpful to customers who may be homebound or otherwise unable to access our on-site services. For some folks, it is the only interaction they have with others during the week.
This route has quite a few bags, so it is best for a larger vehicle or hatchback.
